Passion and hunger is literally oozing from every pore on the new single from Hertfordshire based alt-indie outfit Moats. Now with an equally abrasive video to match, the aptly-titled 'Hungry’ is their first *proper* single for a year or so, and it’s without a doubt their most essential to date. It’s in the live setting in which Moats really excel, having personally seen them twice in the last month or so, but the single’s new visuals deliver a clever insight into the band’s personality traits and vocalist Matthew Duncan’s insatiable enthusiasm. ‘Hungry’ cracks into life with a subtle combination of snare/rim hits and clean guitar work, before literally exploding into a cascade of rich, reverb-laden guitar tremolo picking, wonderfully executed vocal lines, and crushing drums.
